Remembering our Khaver Morris (Morrie) Mrocki

Morris Mrocki, or khaver Moyshe as he was known amongst khaveyrim, was a much loved member of our Bund and SKIF community for many years.

A past President of the Bund in Melbourne and long-standing committee member, he was also a passionate supporter of many Yiddish causes over many decades together with his late wife Chana.

Moyshe was also dedicated to Sholem Aleichem College and the Kadimah.

In his early years, although not in the age bracket to attend, he helped organise and ensure that the first SKIF camps were an ongoing success.

Moyshe and Chana were always welcoming to visitors from far and wide and happily guided overseas visitors all over Melbourne and surrounds. They also kindly visited khaveyrim who were sick in hospital, or in nursing homes, ensuring that no matter what, all Bundistn felt connected to their community.

Always a story teller with a bright smile and open personality, Morrie will be sorely missed by all.

We send our deepest condolences to his children, Freydi, Lionel, and their families.

We also at this time remember Moyshe’s beloved wife Chana and dear son Lex.
